Having lived in China and Taiwan for many years, I was pleased to find a traditionally-trained Acupuncturist in Bath. Following the standard TCM practice, Dr Unwin reviews my health status prior to each session and adjusts his treatment to reflect any significant changes while still dealing with more deep-seated issues. In my case, it is CKD. Although there may be no “cure” for CKD, Dr Unwin’s program of acupuncture plus Chinese herbal formulas has halted any decline. There have been improvements as the rest of my health is adjusted to lessen the strain on my kidneys. Since I am in my mid-70s, I consider this a success.
