Acupuncture can effectively normalise the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis and thus regulate ovulation. Studies show that acupuncture may adjust FSH and LH and normalize oestrogen and progesterone levels, thus affecting ovulation. Its efficacy to treat female infertility should be further investigated.
