Meta-analysis of clinical trials on traditional Chinese herbal medicine for treatment of persistent allergic rhinitis

A systematic review has concluded that Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) interventions appear to have beneficial effects in patients with persistent allergic rhinitis (PAR), although larger studies are needed to confirm this. Seven RCTs with 533 patients were identified and analysed by a group of Chinese authors. Their meta-analysis showed that CHM reduced total nasal symptom scores compared to placebo.
